Season 12 has had one big pain point for a lot of Diablo 4 players: Obducite. You can grind for hours, line up your gear, and still hit a wall the second masterworking starts asking for more materials than the game seems willing to give. That's why people have been swapping notes on every farm route going, and lately one thing keeps coming up in chat and Discord: Treasure Breaches. After testing one myself, I can say the hype isn't just noise. If you're trying to squeeze real value out of your time, or even sorting out your wider buy diablo 4 runes plans for the season, these runs are suddenly worth your attention.
What the run actually looked like
I went into a blood-stained Treasure Breach with around 3,000 Obducite, not expecting much. Fair enough, because Strongrooms have felt hit-or-miss and Nightmare Dungeons have been downright miserable for materials. But this run was different almost straight away. In the first minute or two, Obducite started piling up fast. Not one here, one there. Actual stacks. By the end of the breach, roughly five minutes later, I was sitting above 9,000 total. That's more than 6,000 gained in a single short run. Break it down and you're looking at around 1,200 per minute, which is miles ahead of the old methods people were forcing themselves through.
Why Treasure Breaches feel so much better
The goblin density is a huge part of it, sure, but the real time-saver is how the loot gets handled. Treasure Breaches use global loot distribution, so you're not constantly doubling back to scoop up every drop that landed off-screen. That matters more than people think. If your build isn't stacked with movement speed, or you're relying on bursts of mobility instead of steady pace, you can still keep up without feeling punished. You just stay on the goblins, keep moving, and let the drops come to you. Along the way, you'll pick up Neath Iron and a few decent legendaries too, though most endgame players at Torment 4 are really there for the crafting materials more than anything else.
The catch players need to know
There is one obvious downside. You can't chain Treasure Breaches forever because they depend on the right modifiers showing up. They're not a farm you can queue nonstop like a standard dungeon loop. So when one appears, don't put it off. Go do it. Also, don't assume this means every system has been fixed. Nightmare Dungeons still seem off, and material drops there can feel weirdly stingy. So this looks more like a specific win for Treasure Breaches rather than a full cleanup across the season. If you want the best return, ignore most trash packs, focus goblins first, and make sure your inventory isn't packed before you enter.
What to do from here
If Blizzard leaves this as is, Treasure Breaches are going to stay near the top of the list for Obducite farming. And once March of the Goblins rolls around, things could get even wilder. More goblins inside a breach should mean even more materials in a tiny window, which is exactly what players have been begging for. It's one of the few activities right now that feels rewarding instead of exhausting.
